march issue of Newtype-USA magazine, they printed out my letter i turned in unexpectedly.. remember i was ranting about my teachers how they look down on anime? yup.. i made the cut heheh =P

ART-TEACHER OPPRESSION:  "im attending art school and i'd just like to take a moment to rant about my instructors. they keep complaining about how 2D art is suffering because 3D is totally kicking ass and taking over the animation world, and then they look down on anime! (You'd think they'd love it, being 2D.)  one time i was presenting my story concepts in class and i mentioned that my work was influenced by anime. at first my instructor was like, "you're not gonna put anime in your story, are you?"  in my head i thought, "what the hell does that mean?!" it's true  that i love anime with a passion and i'm influenced by it, but its not like im biting off their style, this isnt just one instructor i'm talking about--in fact, i know four teachers that look down on anime. little do they know that most of these people at school that are majoring in animation and game art design were inspired by japanese art and anime in the first place. without them, they wouldnt have a job! - Jen B. - Moreno Valley, CA

Well i hate the fact that they re-edited my letter but its ok, i permitted them to clarify my frustrations =P so thank you Newtype USA for exposing my letter, i hope in some way, one of my teachers would come across this magazine and come into their senses.
